Free Hugs in Korea

FREE HUGS...

Let's FREE HUGS.

I read about this free hugs things couple of months ago when it was reported in newspaper here. The Korean explanation is from cafe.daum.net. And, there is a little community of free hugs in Korea here. After much "googling", I think it was originated from here.

How many of us will hug a stranger? Or, how many of us will offer to hug strangers to give these unknown people support, warmth, love or even peace.

There are many ways to show affection to people that you care, hugging is one of the common gesture. However, there are more people who have reservation in showing affection even to their love one.

I like to hug and being hugged (to and from whom I like) and I sure will hug the boy who holds the signboard in the video (the video is from Youtube by b612re). Anyhow, it is only free hug, not free kiss!

Paper Art ~ 纸艺

Japanese paper arts are top quality. They are creative, beautiful and thanks to whoever created them. Japanese proabably are perfectionist.

I have seen these during the little venture in Ginza and certainly bought some of those too.

Ginza ~银座

This was my sixth trip to Tokyo but it was the first time I set my foot on Ginza. I think it is the image Ginza gives. The rich and famous, the glitter of the branded, the sophistication of its surrounding.......Since I was on budget tour, I thought it was for my own good to miss the place to avoid disappointment.

Well, it was not that scary after all and I survived.

What I have noticed was there were more middle aged women in Ginza than other parts of Tokyo. They were well-dressed and were seen around cafes sipping coffee or tea with their friends. And, the pretty shop assistants here were less cheerful and friendly somehow.

银座的命名是因为它曾经是个银币打造所。據说更在一次大火后重建至今日的繁华。可惜的是虽然经过如此心机,它给我的只是纸醉金迷,附庸风雅的感觉。

Fire Drill Exercise - Japan Version

After visiting Inokashira Park (井の頭恩賜公園), I bumped into this Japanese style of fire drill exercise (消防演习) at nearby Kichijoji (吉祥寺) train station. Japanese is really an interesting race, even the fire drill exercise has its style, making me wanted to clap my hands and danced together. This performance was performed by a group of young and old.

This was my first time ventured into Kichijoji even its name has appeared frequently in many travel guides, I have enjoyed my short stay in this place. There were many activities in this area probably because it was a weekend.

Uniquely Singapore

I have this experience which prompt me to think that Singapore is truly unique.

I was in the bus on the way to Orchard Road. There was an Indian young lady chatting on her cell phone in either Tamil or Indian (which I could not differentiate). There was a group of young boys sitting at the back of the bus talking loudly to each other in Mandarin. I was chatting with my friend through my cell phone, in English. On the very same night, there was an Middle East family sitting next to my table while I was having my dinner, who was having an Orchard Road residential address, I got to know this simply because our tables were close enough for me to hear some of their conversation.

Most of us fully aware that America is a melting pot, you get to meet people of different races and different cultures because America is huge and she is perceived as land of freedom with lots of opportunies. But what does Singapore, this little red dot, offer? Yet, Singapore is having people from all over the world, either to visit temporarily or to stay permanently, and in turn create its own version of melting pot.
